ClearCost operates by using cost input data from your company linked through two catalogues. These two catalogues are:

An activity catalogue (what is done)
   Also called a Technical Service Catalogue or Towers, this mirrors what the IT group works on, for example:
Hosting Platforms
Application Support for specific applications
Architecture Planning
Project execution
….and itemises what they do in relation to these (activities)

A service catalogue (what is delivered)
   Also called a Business Service Catalogue, what the end-user sees they get from IT, for example:
End User Services
Application Services
Professional Services
Project Services
…and itemises specific Services in relation to each of these

The activity catalogue feeds the service catalogue.  Each catalogue item has a real cost and unit rate generated by the allocation logic of your operations. Catalogues are built to reflect the operational and system styles of each client organisation.
